Kumho Art Hall features a performer every Thursday to spread classical music culture in Korea. Pianist Kim Tae-hyung will be one of the upcoming performers in this series. Kim first debuted as a soloist in the Kumho Prodigy Concert Series in 2000. He studied at the Korean National University of Arts and later in Germany and Russia. He has won numerous international competitions and has performed with renowned ensembles such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the National Orchestra of Belgium. For this concert, he will perform works by Schubert and Prokofiev.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Concert

The second film of the widely beloved Harry Potter series will come to life in concert this November. The Korea Coop, a 70-member orchestra founded in 2014, will perform alongside a live screening of the film. The orchestra performed the live soundtrack of the first film back in June, as part of the "Harry Potter Film Concert Series" global tour by CineConcert, which has brought other film scores to the stage such as "The Godfather" and "Gladiator." The rest of the films in the Harry Potter series will also come to concert, giving fans a new experience of their childhood favorites.

2019 NU'EST Fan Meeting

NU'EST is a five-member boy band that debuted in 2012. The group consists of JR, Aron, Baekho, Minhyun, and Ren. Four of the members competed in season 2 of the audition program "Produce 101" in which Minhyun was selected for the final group, Wanna One. NU'EST has released two full-length studio albums, six mini-albums and many singles. The band has also won many awards including the V Live Awards for the Global Artist Top 10 category and the Brand of the Year Awards for Male Idol of the Year. The group will be holding a fan meeting and concert this November.

HONNE is an English duo that first debuted in 2014. Members include James Hatcher, who produces, and Andy Clutterbuck, who sings and also produces. Since their first mini-album "Warm on a Cold Night," the group has received a positive response from the public and sold out concert stadiums within a year. They have released two studio albums, with the latest one, "Love Me/Love Me Not" being the title of their world tour. They have also released five mini-albums. HONNE will be coming to Seoul this November as one of their tour destinations.

AB6IX 1st World Tour in Seoul: 6IXENSE

AB6IX is a K-pop group that debuted under Brand New Music in 2019. Meaning "absolute six," the five-member group consists of Lim Young-min, Jeon Woong, Kim Dong-hyun, Park Woo-jin, and Lee Dae-hwi. Four of the members competed on season 2 of the audition program "Produce 101," with Park and Lee becoming members of the group Wanna One. In May 2019, AB6IX released their first mini-album "B Complete" and in October they released their first studio album "6IXENSE." They have already won the Genie Music Award for the Next Generation Star, indicating their talent and potential for the future.

Espen Eriksen Trio: Into the Nordic Melody

This Norwegian jazz trio released their first album in 2010. It includes members Espen Eriksen (piano), Lars Tormod Jenset (double bass) and Andreas Bye (drums). They've released four studio albums under the label Rune Grammofon as well as three compilation albums. They have gained recognition in the jazz industry and have even received positive reviews by BBC2 which featured them in their Best Jazz program. They will be coming to various venues throughout Korea this November including Gwangju and Seoul.

One of the darkest musicals ever created, "Sweeney Todd" takes place in the Victorian era and is about Benjamin Barker, a barber who has returned to London after 15 years of exile. Angry and vengeful, he swears to wreak havoc on those who ever crossed his path, including the judge who sentenced him to his exile. He creates a new identity, Sweeney Todd, and begins his bloodthirsty quest for revenge. The lead role of Sweeney will be played by Cho Seung-woo, Hong Kwang-ho and Park Eun-tae.

Rock musical "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" follows a singer and her dreams to reach stardom. Born as Hansel Schmidt, the protagonist undergoes a sex change to marry Luther, a U.S. soldier. The operation goes wrong, and Hedwig must live with the consequences forever. The musical touches upon identity issues, the struggles of the music industry and the world of drag queens. This musical has been widely acclaimed and has won many Tony Awards.

"Dracula" is a Czech musical which made its debut in 1995 in Prague. The opening plot is set in 1462 in Transylvania, where Count Dracula lives with his beloved wife Adriana. When Archbishop van Helsing orders Adriana and Dracula's son to be killed, Dracula becomes furious and wreaks havoc on Transylvania. He becomes immortal and must live out the fate of a vampire, resulting in centuries of misery. The plot takes a turn when, 400 years later in Paris, Dracula encounters Adriana once again. The role of Dracula will be played by Shin Sung-woo, Im Tae-kyung, Um Ki-joon, and Ken from VIXX.

This musical first hit the stage in Japan in 2006 and is based on an original story by Shusaku Endo. It was adapted into a musical by lyricist Michael Kunze and composer Sylvester Levay. The story revolves around two women, the queen of France and a poor woman named Margrid Arnaud. Taking place in the late 18th century, the musical shows how the French Revolution drastically changed the status of these two women. Marie Antoinette will be played by Kim So-hyun and Sophie Kim, while Margrid Arnaud will be played by Chang Eun-ah and Kim Yeon-ji.

The Korean National Ballet was first established in 1962 and is the country's first professional ballet company. Their repertoire includes a wide range of performances including "Swan Lake," "The Nutcracker" and "Sleeping Beauty." They have also performed several original works such as "Prince Hodong" and "Hoi Rang," the latter of which they premiered for the first time this year. It is about a young female warrior who disguises herself to take her father's place in war. The ballet is choreographed by Kang Hyo-hyung and will feature music by composer Gustav Holst.

Throughout 2019

Every Saturday at 3 p.m., the National Gugak Center holds a performance showcasing traditional Korean music and dance. This series will take place all throughout 2019. Each week the series will exhibit the works of various gugak artists. Performances throughout the month of August will include the piri, pansori and sanjo. There will also be a traditional fan dance at the end of the month.

The National Orchestra of Korea first started in 1995 and has approximately 50 members playing in its ensemble. They play both traditional and contemporary music, and will be performing at this concert to celebrate gugak through pieces written in the 21st century from various Korean composers.
