TvN's hit action series "The Uncanny Counter" will return with a second season in the latter half of this year, the network announced.
"All of the leads who played the five 'counters,' Cho Byeong-kyu, Yoo Jun-sang, Kim Se-jeong and Yeom Hye-ran and Ahn Suk-hwan, are on board and (the series) is scheduled to take the Saturday and Sunday slot in the latter half of 2023," the network said in its release, Thursday.
Based on the webcomic named "Amazing Rumor," the fantasy action series follows a teenager So-mun (Cho), who joins a group of exorcists with special abilities, called "counters," to fight off evil spirits.
The first season, which aired in 2020, garnered popularity with its cathartic vigilante storylines, scoring an 11 percent viewership rating with its last episode.
Season 2 will welcome a lineup of new cast members, including actors Jin Seon-kyu from "Bargain," Kang Ki-young from "Extraordinary Attorney Woo," Kim Hieora from "The Glory," and Yoo In-soo from "All of Us Are Dead."
Jin will be a firefighter who saves So-mun's life, Kang and Kim Hieora will play the villains who go against the counters, and Yoo will be the latest member of the counters group.
