"Soo-jung is an emergency room intern doctor, who is filled with enthusiasm and believes in miracles and fantasy. She can be quirky sometimes but is also daring. So I hope to show good energy with the character in the series," Son said. "I'm grateful to take the role of Soo-jung and am trying my best to do a good job of portraying her in my own colors."
Directed by Boo Sung-chul, who is known for leading the smash-hit romance series "The Heirs," and "My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho," the comedy series revolves around a genius but condescending doctor, Cha Young-min (Rain), and a wealthy resident physician, Ko Seung-tak (Kim Bum), who has no interest in becoming a skilled doctor.
One day, Young-min gets involved in an unexpected car accident and wakes up in Seung-tak's body. Having completely opposite personalities, backgrounds and medical skills, the two must figure out how they are going to carry on with their lives with switched bodies.
Actress and singer Uie, whose real name is Kim Yu-jin, will play Young-min's ex-girlfriend, Jang Se-Jin, who starts to work at the same hospital as Young-min.
The series is written by Kim Sun-soo, who scripted the fantasy medical series "Live Up to Your Name."
Son hinted that the series will have both a meaningful message and humor. "The series will offer pleasant humor with the fantasy concept. But as it unfolds the stories within a hospital, there's also a humanistic touch to the plot."
"Ghost Doctor" will air on tvN Mondays and Tuesdays at 10:30 p.m.
