Question: Did you have any worries about shooting the film?

Uhm: Before shooting, I had many worries. I wondered if the director, Bang Eun-jin, would like my acting. I wondered if we would have differences in how we interpreted the scenes and if she would allow me to act the way I normally do without interfering. Such questions bothered me. But after discussing the scenes beforehand, everything became clear to me and we have since formed such a strong bond. We respect each other's opinions and we even go to the bathroom together! (laughs)

Q: How have you changed since the movie?

Uhm: I once asked myself whether this movie would be a turning point for me or not. I am a singer by trade, but I am passionate about acting too. I know that my image is pretty set. People see me as a very outgoing person, but they will soon realize that I have many different facets to my character. I wanted to change myself and show other sides of me through the character in this movie. That's why this movie means a lot to me.

Q: Please evaluate Uhm's acting from the director's point of view, Ms. Bang.

Bang: Uhm has the potential to be great in this field. There is a lot more to her than first meets the eye. There's an air of mystery about her. She is also rather reserved and not very expressive. Maybe that’s why she tried so hard in showing her feelings through her character in the movie. She was so engrossed in each scene that people sometimes freaked out.

Q: Do you enjoy acting?

Uhm: I do. In fact, I've been thinking of acting for a long time. Being both a singer and an actress is not an easy task, but after reading the role, I couldn't pass it up. I saw myself in the character and I really thought I could do it. I've never portrayed this kind of character before and wondered what it would be like to be a serial killer. I wanted to show an evil side of myself.

Q: When did you first feel like you were an actress?

Uhm: When I first saw one of my movie posters on a street, I had butterflies in my stomach. It was the weirdest feeling I've ever had. I cried when I saw my name appear on screen during the preview..

Q: Which scene was the hardest for you to do?

Uhm: I can't pinpoint one specific scene because every scene was hard. Not just mentally but physically as well. I thought I was fit before. But after shooting a few scenes, my body got really sore and I sometimes couldn't even move. But I didn't want my physical condition to get in the way of my acting, so I massaged myself when no one was looking.

Q: Who is your ideal guy?

Uhm: For me, I would say, the actor Hwang Jung-min. I like the fact that he's honest and caring. I once heard him saying that he's been with his wife for a long time but has never cheated on her.
